Online Donations
We increasingly rely on the generosity of our individual donors in order to run our three existing services, as well as develop new and innovative approaches to addressing the changing needs of Irish emigrants today. All donations, large and small, really do make a difference. Here’s how:
£2 a month could fund the travel costs of a volunteer so that they can stop an Irish older person being lonely and isolated
“It’s great to have a visit in the afternoon, it breaks the silence of here”
£5 a month could provide an Irish prisoner with phone credit so that they can keep in touch with their family back home.
“Without your help I would not have been able to visit my son in prison’ (An Irish mother).
£10 a month could help us run a training session to educate public authorities about the need for more legal pitches for Irish Travellers.
“25% of Irish Travellers live in unauthorised or illegal encampments. There is a shortfall of approximately 750 legal pitches forcing these Irish families into cycles of forced evictions”
One off gifts:
We have plenty of major projects that need funding, if you’d like to help, we’d be keen to discuss.
We are always looking for help with major projects. Examples of this would be:
If you have a lump sum that you would like to donate to the Irish Chaplaincy then we have plenty of project ideas we would be happy to discuss with you. Please contact Philomena Cullen (Philomena.cullen@irishchaplaincy.org.uk) for further information.
Below are a few ways in which you could help:
£250 would pay for a vulnerable older Irish person to enjoy one of our planned ‘Return to Ireland’ holidays.
£500 would pay for a grant to make sure that ten Irish prisoners can travel back to their families when they are released from prison
£1,500 would pay for a Traveller family to attend a parenting programme spread over 13 weeks
£3,000 would enable us to run three events for Older Irish people in London to make sure that they still feel part of the Irish community
£9,000 would sponsor all our Irish prisoners to make sure that they have clothing, toiletries and the chance to keep in regular contact with their families while they are in prison.
£15,000 would enable us to extend our support to Irish Travellers through a specialist sacramental preparation for young engaged Irish Travellers.
We have enlisted the support of a charity (The Dove Trust) that is dedicated to quality advice about personal and corporate charitable giving, online, and by telephone or post. If you want to make an online payment to us, we accept most major cards including visa, cirrus, maestro, connect, delta, mastercard and amex.
Thank you for your generosity
Remembering us in your Will is a way to leave behind a legacy of Hope
Making a Will gives you the peace of mind that your assets will be distributed as you would wish, and that your family and friends are spared unnecessary worry and heartache over legal and financial matters. By remembering the Irish Chaplaincy in your Will, you can also reduce your Estate's liability to Inheritance Tax. If you have already made your Will, it can be simply updated. We recommend that you contact your solicitor (we can even help you find a solicitor). For more information, please contact us on 020 7482 5528 and ask to speak to Philomena or Fr Joe in complete confidence.
