Our Work

The Irish Chaplaincy is one of the oldest Irish charities in the UK. For over 55 years we have been journeying in hope with our Irish emigrants.

Down the decades the services provided by the Irish Chaplaincy have had an interesting and diverse history. We have a proven track record of being one of the most dynamic and innovative agencies working on the issue of emigration. Today we deliver on our mission through our three main projects:

• ICB Prisoner Project:  Irish Council for Prisoners Overseas (ICPO)

A prison visiting, information and advocacy project working with Irish prisoners in the UK and their families.

• ICB Traveller Project

An outreach project to the Irish Traveller community, providing pastoral care, mediation support, eviction monitoring and advocacy.

• ICB Older Persons Project

A home-visiting and befriending project to prevent and alleviate social exclusion and loneliness among older Irish people in London.
